The legal context (important)
Whatever its history, any rummy product played for money online now sits under India's central ban: the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 prohibits online money games nationwide since 1 May 2026 — including skill-based ones — with prison terms and heavy fines for offering, facilitating or advertising them. Search interest does not equal legality: many now-blocked money-gaming brands still show large “download” query volumes from users who have not caught up with the law.
